Q: What is the difference between the 2009 Subaru WRX Base model and the Premium model?
What is the difference between the 2009 Subaru WRX Base model and the Premium model? I would like a complete list of all the differences...

A: Base model: $24,995 MSRP Premium model: $27,495 MSRP. The WRX Premium adds a power moonroof, 10-speaker, 6-disc audio system with auxiliary input and heated front seats, side mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer. Check with a dealer for more details. Michael B: There are three "2009" WRX models: Base, Premium, and STI. The question did not ask about the STI. You are describing the 04-07 models.

Q: Where can I find a Subaru WRX Engine for cheap?
I have a 2002 Subaru WRX and I need to replace the Engine. Does anyone know where I can find one (used is okay) in good condition with not too many miles on it in the Chicagoland area or online? okay yeah I know ebay and craigslist, i'm talkin about other places that aren't so obvious. Oh! And some guy I work with was telling me about some website that I guess imports used engines from japan because they discard them or something like that after a certain amount of miles due to some law...does anyone know what he's talking about lol

A: Check craigslist or forums below. There is one near me for $1500 with 40k miles. 4 hours away from you though.

Q: What is the Up and Down Arrow on the center console of a 02 Subaru WRX manual 2.0L?
What is the Up and Down Arrow on the center console of a 02 Subaru WRX manual 2.0L? Someone told me that its for snow traction, but I'm not sure. What is its purpose? The WRX does not have a sun roof btw.

Q: What parts should i get for a subaru wrx sti?
i will be getting a subaru wrx sti later this year. i was wondering what parts would be most beneficial for this car. any help is appreciated

A: Depends what you wanna do with the car: -If you just want mild street performance, look into a good strut/spring combo. Possibly larger front/rear sway bar and endlinks. -Intakes are really unnecessary on our cars, as the stock airbox will suffice until you reach larger numbers. -blow off valves again are unnecessary. Your stock one will hold around 20~25 psi. -If you want more power, look into some tuning. Research Cobb tuning or Utec or opensource tuning. Cobb has a plug and play system assuming you install an aftermarket (high flow cat or catless) downpipe and catback. This is just the tip of hte iceberg. Don't be afraid to email me if you have anymore questions.

Q: Subaru WRX STI safe to drive with regular grade gas?
I just got a WRX STI and the dealer filled the tank up with regular gas instead of the required premium grade fuel. Is it safe to drive the car till I use it up and get the right gas in it. Got the car from a carfax dealer not subaru.

A: Use a little, top up, use a little more, top up again. I doubt if it was totally empty when he filled it up, so you have a dilute solution, and topping it up every 100 miles will gradually bring it back to what it should be. Just don't floor it or drive over the limit on the highway until the gas is changed.

Q: Why are there more new Mitsubishi Evo 9 for sale than the Subaru WRX STI?
I am in central FL, and I notice that dealers still have several NEW 06 Mitsubishi EVO 9s. It's much harder finding a new 2007 Subaru WRX STI, since they get sold quicker. I am a prospective buyer and would like to have some input on this. Why is this? Does the EVO have other 'achilles heels' other than the dreaded premature clutch wear? Is the STI the better car for the street and occasional track? The EVO is praised in all magazines and people as 'the car to have', yet the Subaru STI is the 'hard car to find'. Can anyone shed light on the subject? Thanks

A: Ranging in popularity between both cars its hard to make a choice, though i've driven both and I can make a educated guess at least. The 2007 wrx sti model is fast, handles great, and can still take you around town while feeling normal, while when I drove the evo it was a totally different feeling, it was FAST, and had a bit better handling, but for a daily driver I don't think i'd be happy with it. The other reason that the 07 sti is going to be hard to find right now is because the 08 model has been skipped in preparation for a 09 model release of the sti, meaning that all those people who would have bought an 08 this year are scrambling to get their hands on the limited stock of 07 sti that are left over, not to mention many people find the 07 much more aesthetically pleasing than the 08 wrx (and in relation the possible 09 sti) causing a jump at that car. I'll put it this way to sum it up, if you love to take your car to the track or always out to play in it the evo is a great car, but if you're a daily drive commuter with a passion for some offroad fun when you're not busy the sti is for you.

Q: Evo 8 vs Civic si vs Subaru WRX STI which ones is the best?
Okay to make things easier on the question an Evo 8, A new Civic si, and a Subaru Impreza WRX STI '05, the prices range for the Evo 8 (stock) and the Subaru (stock) are from 23K - 25k and the Civic Si 07 (stock) is around 21k - 22k. My questions are: Which one would you buy and why. Which one is easier to fit with aftermarket parts. Which one, in your opinion, would win a race if they were pinned against each other. Last question is between the Evo 8 and the Subaru, which one would you choose? (Neglect Price) Lol my bad. Ok if the Civic, Evo, and the WRX were fully tuned.

A: Well first off like the guy before me said. Your comparing apples and oranges here but im not gonna be anal so here it is. If u want the car for the performance go for the evo because specific bolt ons for the evo can raise the HP by like 5-10 and thats quite a lot. But if u want to go luxury wise and what not go for the STI because its a good all round car but it doesnt pack as much oooomph as the evo. As for the civic itll work really well as long as u buy the right one because the stock 07 civic SI comes with a k20 engine that is 200 hp with 144 tq and it responds really well to bolt ons meaning that u can add so intake, exhaust and header mods and lighten the car chassis enough by taking things out like ur AC and the interior equipment and it will be as fast as the evo and STI but it depends if ur willing to go that extra mile to do all that to the civic but anyways my choice would be the evo because u get more power out of the box and it can kick some serious ass. and if u dont think the evos 300 hp is enough go get a turbo and boost the crap out of it. Well thats my opinion but u can do whatever u want to whichever car that ur thinking of buying. HEY KID BELOW ME> IT DOESNT SEEM LIKE U KNOW A LOT ABOUT HONDA'S HP RATING AND POWER TO WEIGHT RATIOS BUDDY SO DONT TALK IF U DONT KNOW

Q: What is the maintenance like on a subaru wrx.?
Thinking about getting a used subaru wrx does anyone know what the maintenance is like. Is it alot to maintain or is low to maintain, because i drive a acura now and I'll tell you that honda is very reliable. Just want to know if subaru is the same. Because im looking for a nice sports car thats good on gas and good in the snow and the wrx has that 4cyl awd. Also which year has the least defects and problems. Thanks

A: Well not to scare you but buying a used wrx is a little dangerous. You dont know if the owner before you has beat on it putting tons of huge upgrades then downgrading it back to stock to sell it before it blows up. If you do find one that an older couple has had that would be the best. Taking care of them is no more expensive than most cars, just make sure to do the 30k,60k,and 90k since these are critical to the drivetrain of our vehicle and all the fluids need to be changed along with the spark plugs.

Q: My 17 year old son wants a Subaru WRX STI, but im not sure if he can handle it. Should i let him get one?
He is going to pay for about 70% of everything. I have to pay the rest. He has had his lisense for about a year and a half now and has not had an accident yet. He does good in school too. But a Subaru WRX STI seems a little too much for a 17 year old boy to handle. Should i let him buy one? Used of course.

A: it depends - do you think he has a potential of street racing? when he drives, does he usually like to floor it a lot, as well as speed over the limit and run red lights? if any of those are true, then most likely he's gonna race it. but if he's a good, decent driver who does well in school and takes driving seriously, then it should be ok. it might take a while to get used to, but think of it this way - if your son has the ability to control and drive a 300hp rally car every day, imagine how good of a driver he'll be - the subaru has extremely good brakes, could save his life - the car is built to be fast reaction and light on its feet, so avoiding an accident will be easier than most cars. there are also times when you really need to power to get out of the way to avoid a colision, and its nice to know hes got 300hp to help him out overall, buying this car will make him a better, skilled driver. but remember, YOU are the parent. if you dont think he can handle it, then feel free to say no - your the parent - u make the choice

Q: What kind of store do I go to for add-on's to my Subaru WRX?
My husband has a Subaru WRX and he wants an intake, and a few other things for his birthday. Where do I go to find that stuff?

A: You can go to any high performance auto shop. I would recommend Subaru approved parts. The parts department at a Subaru dealer will carry approved parts. Be careful Subaru is very particular about add-ons. I have seen it happen before were Subaru will void the warranty because of after market add ons that may damage the power-train.

Q: What model years match the '04 Subaru Wrx Sti?
For those who know more about the specifics of these cars and when they changed what things on them, if my dream car is an '04 Subaru Wrx Sti, for the sake of the body styling in the grille and headlights, what other years (before and after) of this car are identical, and outward from there what are the first changes they started to make, such that i'd be able to know that hypothetically while an '0x had an identical body, the engine or drivetrain were different in some way?

A: Basically when the STI first came out in 04 it was just a WRX with the bigger motur, 6 speed and Brembo breaks. from 05 they got quite different than the WRX. Strut setup changed as well as the track. 05 an up STI's only use a different bolt pattern on the wheels and are not interchangable with any other subaru models. 07 got a new turbo that was the same size but with a little better exhaust flow. They also got a little different gearing as well. I'm sure i missed some things but that's the basic differences. I would say the 04 is a good car cuz all parts are interchangable with other models and all engine and suspension upgrades for other models will also fit the04 STI too.

Q: What is the better car, an Lancer Evo or Subaru WRX STi?
2003 Lancer Evo? or 2004 Subaru Wrx STi? 3 main points I would like covered in your answer... Which one is more reliable? Which has better handling? Which has more car for the money(which is a better deal for the amount of awesome-ness) and also just give me some personal thoughts... thanks.

A: i have a friend that has a WRX STi, he's had his for a few years, and he has had no problems with it. Im not sure about the Evo. The WRX STi has awesome handling...Im pretty sure the Evo has good handling as well...i think the WRX STi puts out more hp and torque than the Evo too...sorry i just dont have much info about the Evo lol. I drive a 04 Eclipse that im selling and a Neon SRT-4, which is pretty much a competitor of the Evo and WRX haha. But yeah, i would go with the WRX STi...the Evo just looks weird to me too>>>> goodluck
