Q: Which car is better to race and drift in a 2006 Subaru WRX STi or Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution MR ?
Looking for a new car i want the best out of these two but i don't know which one is better. I want it to be fast, cheap, and able to drift. and has a lot of aftermarket parts to customize what i want. any ideas. Also where can i get a used one for cheap which ever it may be?

A: it is hella hard to drift awd's good luck bud i have a vr-4 and that things a bitch to drift with it is possible but not as good as a rear wheel drive car would be

Q: I found a 2006 Subaru WRX STI For Sale For $20,000 Should I Buy IT?!?!!?!?
Everything seems good about the deal, the only issue for me is the car hit a curb going like 70 and sheered off both back wheels, the car was Completely Fixed at the Subaru Dealership ($9,000) and runs fine now, It has 14,000 miles on it and Has Full Warranty 5 years 60,000 miles from Dec 2005. and Bumper to Bumper 3 years 30,000 miles. Gimmie some advice........ I'm thinkin yeh.......

A: I say go for it as long as you don't plan on keeping it much longer than the warranty period. That way you have documented proof the car was fixed "right" by the dealership and you should not have problems with claims. Other than that, you might find out the car is completely fine in the next 46,000 miles. If there was a problem with strut angles (eg: camber, toe), differential compromising or anything of the sort it would show up in that time. Just realize you will not get much money out of the car when you go to sell it again with the major repair showing up on the car's records.

Q: Is a 2006 Subaru WRX STI 4.5 13.0 stick or automatic?

A: you should ask this to general-auto racing. anyway, i saw it on tv, it's stick! but probably there is also automatic version.

Q: 2006 Lancer EVO vs. 2006 Subaru WRX Sti?
Evo- 286hp, 289tq, 0-60 5.6, 1/4 mi. in 13.7 @ 102mph. Sti-300hp, 300tq, 0-60 5.5, 1/4 mi. in 13.9 @ 97mph. both have 18-24 mpg. evo @ $35,189 Sti @ $32,995 the evo looks better to me. less hp, but overall faster. the Sti more hp, faster in short distance, only .1 seconds though. and that was on cars.com so... it could differ in real life. either could be faster. what do you think is a better car?

A: EVO ALL THE WAY! All the STI has is a bit more hp. Other than that... EVO takes it all... looks, comfort, handling, performance, and the price, well, its worth every penny! Is it an MR edition? And that whole 1/4 mile stats, it depends on the driver too... you need to have skills to drive an EVO! HA!

Q: Should i get a 1997 volvo 850R or a 2006 Subaru WRX Sti?
please state reasons why: -both have about the same fuel economy. -power is about 50-80Hp difference stock please state reasons why: -both have about the same fuel economy. -power is about 50-80Hp difference stock * i'll be driving about 12 miles one way to go to school (basically a straight away) *i feel like the volvo is safer, but the subaru is a competition to it. since subaru's are safe as well. *5 speed auto- volvo *6 speed manual-subaru *parts are cheaper for the subaru right? *you can tune the subaru far more/cheaper than a volvo. *realiability? *insurance guess? (wouldn't the subaru be far more for insurance than a volvo)? *part pricing?

A: The Subaru will be much more reliable and a great deal cheaper to maintain. You'll get about the same gas mileage, but the Subaru is all wheel drive. You will have all kinds of minor problems with the Volvo. All the electrical stuff is crap and breaks (window switches, headlight switch, ignition switch, door locks). Go with the Subaru. Your wallet will thank you.

Q: Charger SRT 2006 vs. Subaru WRX 2006?
which one is better? thank you very much! i meant the comparison for the speed, durability, insurance rate, etc.. never drove WRX before...I heard it's pretty good.. i should've mentioned that i have charger srt 06...haha but thanks for your answers!!!

A: It really depends on what your looking for... The SRT-8 will give you more power (6.1L V-8 vs. 2.5L turbo L-4) and that instantly recognizable American muscle. It's also a larger sedan, which would give you more room for friends. Since it is RWD its not as good in winter time, which is important if you live somewhere that gets a lot of snow/ice. Keep in mind too that Chrysler vehicles absolutely do not hold their value, and even though it has already lost a massive chunk of value these last few years, it will continue to do so until its demise. The WRX, though not as fast, should be cheaper to insure (not sure on this) since it's a smaller car and four cylinder. Keep in mind too that a lot of people don't like the new WRX design, which adds value to the '06. It too has lost a lot of value, but nothing like the SRT. The WRX will also be more reliable, still give you a unique sound through its longitudinal turbocharged four cylinder and give you decent gas mileage as long as you stay away from boost. Now while the SRT is a torque monster, the WRX has tons of turbo lag, so you have to "get on it" to get any kind of real power, which will also kill your mileage. Overall, the WRX is the better choice in my opinion. Both cars are fun and fast, but the WRX will be more reliable, offer better resale value (Subaru gear heads nuts over WRXs), and will give better mileage.

Q: is it ok to take of the snorkel(silencer) in my subaru wrx sti 2006? then after modding it up?

A: Being a proud owner of a 2005 STi, I can tell you than no, you should not take the silencer out of the car. If you need to do any modifcations to the exhcaust, do a full cat-back system. There are plenty of places out there for that. As for tuning, I recommend Cobb Tuing or Prodrive if you can afford it. I have a 2005 STi and have done a Cobb Tuning Stage 2 power pack along with a Stage 3 Cylinder head upgrade. I also just ordered the Prodrive WRC rally spoiler for better downforce. In total I run about 375hp at the crank and a high 12 1/4th mile. It's a very very fast car, but not the fast of my bunch :P Here is the link to the Cobb Tuning website.

Q: Is it possible to swap a 2jzgte into a Subaru WRX?
1) Is it possible to swap a 2jzgte (Supra/Aristo engine) into a 2006 Subaru WRX (maybe STI)? 2) Has it ever been done before? 3) Would you have to convert to RWD? 4)Is it hard/a good idea to convert to RWD? Thanks for any input!! =) Thanks guys. No, WRX's of any kind are no where near Supra's. Yes, RWD has been done in more than 2 cars. There is a famous drift team that did it.

A: No The Supra engine is much bigger than the wrs or sti engine. So it will not fit into the engine bay. And the cost to do this would be more expensive than buying a Toyota Supra and modifying it to 500HP. Besides, an STI is faster than a Supra so adding a Supra engine will make the car slower. It is very hard to make it a RWD. It has never been done before.

Q: 2006 Pontiac GTO VS 2007 Subaru WRX STI?
which is faster, 0-60? and 1/4 mile?

A: Yeah, the STI is faster 0-60 1/4mile is going to be a drivers race highway speeds - GTO faster

Q: wat do u all think of the car model subaru impreza wrx in 2003 n 2006?

A: I own a 2006 WRX. I think it's great and i highly recommend buying one. VERY fun car!

Q: does anyone know where I can find a 2007 Subaru WRX STI in Wisconsin. Does it come it automatic?
(Yes, I know manual is faster but due to injury in the war I cannot drive stick) any thoughts on this car? I'm also looking at the 2006 GTO and the 2007 V8 mustang. I haven't been able to find much info on the 2007 STI. How much HP does the 2007 STI have with all the optional upgrades? (intake, and exhuast upgrade etc.).

A: Your local dealer will have to check the inventory throughout the state (most likely none). Or you'll have to order one or go find a dealer hundreds of miles away (in a neighboring state) that has one. The most likely area to find a dealer with the STI is the Milwaukee area, since that's the only metropolitan area in WI. It will also be difficult to get certain parts and service for the STI in WI. The STI comes with a 6-speed M/T only. A Short Throw Shifter is the only option for the transmission. Look into the Mustang instead, because you cannot drive stick.

Q: 2004 subaru wrx?
I have a 2004 subaru wrx can you put 2006 and 2007 tailights on a 2004 model they look exactly alike

A: It is possible, but you would probably have to switch around the wires. To be honest though, Ive never heard of changing the tail lights so good luck!

Q: Subaru, Nissan, or other?
I am looking for a car that is in between 18 and 25 thousand dollars and I have found three that I like the 2006 Subaru WRX, 2005-06 Subaru Legacy, And the 2005-2006 Nissan Altima R(not shure about the name). What car is the best out of the three and why? And does anyone have any other suggestions that fit my butget. Thanks.

A: For 18-25,000, the nissan altima is great, and also has good resale, how about the mazda 6? the resale is not as good, but it doesn't consume that much gas like the subaru and the look is also stylish. The resale however is bad. Within your budget theres also the Mitsubishi galant GTS, which is sporty and stylish. The resale is not great. In my opinion go for the altima, the new look is very nice and the resale is high.
